Casa Sottovento, situated above the small Ligurian village on the Colla, is just a few minutes by car from the sea. There are two alimentari, or small food stores, a butcher, post office, chemist, and a restaurant and small bar.
The flat comfortably sleeps up to four and comprises two bedrooms, a practical, well equipped kitchen / lounge and a bathroom. From the spacious terrace you can enjoy a wonderful view of the sea over an evening glass of wine, or over breakfast with delicious fresh rolls.

This municipality is formed of two towns on the sunny slopes of the San Pietro Valley. Dominating the lower town is the parish church, one of the most important in the area (the christening font dates from the eleventh century). All that is left of the original late mediaeval building is the bell tower. It is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and was reconstructed in Baroque style in the second half of the eighteenth century. The parvis is paved with pebbles and it was surrounded by a wall in 1564 as a defence against Saracen invasions. The interior preserves a painting of the martyrdom of San Giovanni Battista attributed to Giovanni Battista Paggi and a fine seventeenth-century marble pulpit.


Along the road to Diano San Pietro there are two buildings that were once used for control and defence of the valley: the square "Camandone" barracks building and the "Molino Arduino", a fortified mill.


Just outside the town, when you have crossed the bridge over the Rio San Pietro, you will come to the district of Colla, where you can admire the recently-restored sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve. In the church of the Natività di Maria in Borganzo, you can see a fine poliptych by Antonio Brea: the Madonna della Consolazione (1518). There is a very old humpback bridge over the San Pietro at Roncagli. At one time, the valley was full of mills producing Taggia olive oil. Besides olive-oil production, the local economy is based on the cultivation of vegetables, fruit and basil, which is the main ingredient of the typical local liqueur. Among the many local summer festivals, the most famous is the one dedicated to a pasta dish called "trenette al pesto", which is accompanied by a classic Ligurian wine called Pigato.


Diano San Pietro lies, if seen from the sea, upwards and right of Diano Marina. In Diano Marina there is a very good infrastructure with countless restaurants, shops, cafés, bars and discos, as well as tennis courts, bowling, bicycle rentals and many other diverse sporting opportunities. Many excursions can be undertaken from here.


From Diano San Pietro, the road follows the same named river(which powered the many olive mills) to Diano Borganzo, whose hamlets all lie on a steep slope. Here you will find the town church, Natività di Maria, built in the 19th century, where you can see a fine polyptych by Antonio Brea: the Madonna della Consolazione (1518). In the small Roncagli, a small medieval bridge over the San Pietro river leads you down the road to Virgili and Diano Arentino.

Ce n'est pas grand chose, mais puisque vous me le demandez,vous pourriez peut être ajouter une essoreuse à salade. Non, tout est trés bien. Faire absolument le cinque terre !!! Restaurant à Diano marina, spécialité de poissons, dont j'ai oublié le nom. Non, nous avons été satisfaits.

Wir fanden die Wohnung super. Eine Gartenliege wär noch einfach schön. Fahren Sie doch mal ins Hinterland - Diana Argentina, dann über den Pass, weiter nach Pieve di Teca. evtl über den Passo di teglia zurück - eine tolle Tour,.

annoncer dans la documentation, avant la réservation, que la fourniture des draps est possible mais payante. la liste est inépuisable... Savoir que si l'on veut visiter le joyau des Cinque Terre, il vaut mieux prendre le train pour La Spezia, car par la route, l'accès est long, , pour descendre sur chaque Terre, le stationnement peu aisé. En effet,un autre train longe la côte qui permet de faire escale directement sur chaque site. C'est une merveille !! Nous avons raffolé de Diano Marina, petite ville tranquille, plage très agréable... Peu de touristes, mais beaucoup d'Italiens, tant mieux !! C'est vraiment l'ITALIE !!

un lave-vaisselle? une petite radio/CD? tout était parfait... belles promenades dans les collines, belles plages à Impéria, achat de Vermentino chez M.Carenzo (en montant vers la résidence) nous sommes entièrement satisfaits. J'aimerais juste souligner la grande propreté de la location, très propre partout!

peut etre une television si le temps n'est pas au beau . non meme si tous l'ammenagement n'etait pas completement fini tout etait bien et la terasse tres grande .seul les abords des voisins pourrez etre un peu plus entretenus. nous nous sommes permis de laisser de la documentation pour les visites et plusieurs lieux interressants a voir dans l'appartement de location ( en FRANCAIS )car cela manque un peu,le francais n'etant pas trop parlé dans le secteur . je pense qu'il faudrait prevenir les futurs locataires des chemins tres praticables et en bons etats pour arriver au lieu de location ,mais qu'ils sont etroits .

Hallo Frau Cocca, wollte nur Bescheid geben, dass es sich bei dem Haus Sottovento um ein sehr schönes, ruhig gelegenes und für uns idyllisches Feriendomizil gehandelt hat.
