Description
The Casa dei Garofani 2 lies close to the centre of Diano Marina, which you can easily reach on foot to explore the shopping streets, the sea and the sandy beaches. The apartment has enough space for six people, comprising a bedroom with both a king sized bed and single bed, a second bedroom with bunk bed and daybed, iand a kitchen and bathroom with shower. You can enjoy a good book, a glass or two of fine local wine, and generally relax on the spacious terrace at the end of an absorbing day.

On the plain that is crossed by the San Pietro river, an area showing signs of Iron Age settlement, there once stood "Lucus Bormani", the sacred wood dedicated to the water god Borman, which in Roman times became an important resting place along the Via Julia Augusta. Saracen incursions in the later Middle Ages forced the inhabitants to take to the highlands, but from the thirteenth century onwards Diano expanded and became especially important as a commercial centre for the sea trading of olive oil.
After the town was destroyed by an earthquake in 1887, reconstruction work gave Diano an appearance typical of a nineteenth-century Riviera town. The parish church of Sant'Antonio Abate on the Via Aurelia dates from 1862: the marble altars date from the seventeenth century and are situated in the neo-classical interior near to frescoes and paintings from the Genoese school, including the "Death of Saint Joseph" by Luca Cambiaso. The civic museum tells the story of Diano Marino through the centuries and preserves archaeological exhibits from pre-Roman and Roman times (including amphorae and vases from a ship that sank off the coast) and objects from the Napoleonic era and the Risorgimento.
Since Diano was rebuilt, tourism has been the undisputed vocation of a town which offers sandy beaches surrounded by Mediterranean maquis. With its tourist harbour and facilities and the opportunity to practise a variety of sports (from traditional diving to go-karting, bowling and minigolf), Diano Marina is the heart of the Gulf. If you wish, you can take a boat that passes by the most important locations along the Riviera dei Fiori and takes you to do some whale-watching off the coast.
A great event is the is a marvellous display of flowers during the solemn time of Corpus Domini (between May and June): the streets of the town are covered with flowers arranged in special patterns.

Die Ausstattung fand ich (bis auf die Dusche) sehr gut Ist alles da was man braucht (noch mehr nimmt eher Platz weg) Das Aqarium in Genua und die Grotten in Toirano mit den Felsenbildern davor waren sehr beeindruckend. Zum Essen fand ich eine bunte Mischung aus Salaten und Früchten vom Obstgeschäft, frischen Nudeln und Speisen aus der Rosticceria am schönsten

Der Außenbereich war sehr schön. WhaleWatching ab Imperia (allerdings schlecht ausgeschildert), mussten ganz schon lange suchen, um zu reservieren, hier die Adresse des Ticket-schalters: Galleria La Marina, Via Rambaldo 44, Imperia. Wir haben einen sehr schönen Urlaub an der Blumenriviera verbracht, uns hat gefallen, dass Kinder dort sehr willkommen sind. Die Region werden wir auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen.

Keine weiteren Vorschläge Imperia war sehr schön und empfehlenswert. Fürs Fussball schauen war die Bar "Bei Klaus" super. leider waren über uns Bauarbeiten und deshalb ab 8 uhr morgens ziemlich viel Lärm. Aber dies hat keinen Abbruch getan..

Die Ausstattung ist für eine Ferienwohnung Ok. TV mit deutschen Sendern währe von Vorteil. Sehr gut viel Platz, für einen Sommerurlaub gute Lage Winter: Spaziergänge am Strand nach San Bartolomeo, Fusweg nach Imperia, Städte Imperia, Sanremo. Radtouren an der Küstenstraße besonders Fahrad - Fusweg von San Lorenzo - Sanremo, sowie Touren in die Bergdörfer, Kirchenbesichtigungen. Eine Genauere Beschreibung der Lage des Objektes ist von vorteil (ortskentnisse vorhanden) die gesamte Abwicklung war einfach und Problemlos, auch die Vermieter vor Ort sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Die Terasse war sehr groß. Es gab Liegen, genügend Sessel, einen großen Tisch, einen Wäscheständer. Es war alles vorhanden. Danke. Es war ein schöner Urlaub. Wir werden Ihre Hilfe auf jeden Fall wieder in Anspruch nehmen und mit Ihre Agentur mit Sicherheit weiterempfehlen.

Die Ausstattung war in Ordnung, keine Vorschläge. Wenn die Wohnung für vier Personen angeboten wird, sollten auch vier Liegestühle "mit Polsterauflage" zur Vefügung stehen. Der Platz dazu ist ja auf dieser großzügigen Terasse vorhanden. Ihre online -Präsentation mit entsprechenden Empfehlungen ist sehr gut. Ich möchte darauf verweisen. Wir bedanken uns für die persönliche Beratung, auch durch mehrere Telefonate.
