Description

The detached Casa dei Limoni nestles snugly between orange and lemon trees, only about five minutes from the shopping streets of Diano Marina with their quaint little cafes and restaurants. Time will take wings as you amuse yourself sauntering through the streets and along the promenade. An expansive roof balcony giving an grand view across the gulf of Diano marina is just one of the treasures of this unostentatiously furnished apartment, which also boasts two bedrooms, a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. The terrace will entice you to try a barbecue or, if you have already eaten out, just to hang out there and relax.

On the plain that is crossed by the San Pietro river, an area showing signs of Iron Age settlement, there once stood "Lucus Bormani", the sacred wood dedicated to the water god Borman, which in Roman times became an important resting place along the Via Julia Augusta. Saracen incursions in the later Middle Ages forced the inhabitants to take to the highlands, but from the thirteenth century onwards Diano expanded and became especially important as a commercial centre for the sea trading of olive oil.


Diano_MarinaAfter the town was destroyed by an earthquake in 1887, reconstruction work gave Diano an appearance typical of a nineteenth-century Riviera town. The parish church of Sant'Antonio Abate on the Via Aurelia dates from 1862: the marble altars date from the seventeenth century and are situated in the neo-classical interior near to frescoes and paintings from the Genoese school, including the "Death of Saint Joseph" by Luca Cambiaso. The civic museum tells the story of Diano Marino through the centuries and preserves archaeological exhibits from pre-Roman and Roman times (including amphorae and vases from a ship that sank off the coast) and objects from the Napoleonic era and the Risorgimento.


Since Diano was rebuilt, tourism has been the undisputed vocation of a town which offers sandy beaches surrounded by Mediterranean maquis. With its tourist harbour and facilities and the opportunity to practise a variety of sports (from traditional diving to go-karting, bowling and minigolf), Diano Marina is the heart of the Gulf. If you wish, you can take a boat that passes by the most important locations along the Riviera dei Fiori and takes you to do some whale-watching off the coast.


A great event is the is a marvellous display of flowers during the solemn time of Corpus Domini (between May and June): the streets of the town are covered with flowers arranged in special patterns.

restaurant "serafino" in cervo restaurant "censin da bea" borgomaro (15gänge) wanderweg alassio-albenga radweg san remo-san lorenzo al mare alles in allem war es von der unkomplizierten buchung bis zur rückreise ein gelungener urlaub!

Es sollten die Zäune gestrichen werden und einige Möbel (z.B. Das Sofa) ersetzt werden. Auch die Fenster und vor allem die Jalousien haben nicht ihren vollen Zweck erfüllt (ließen sich nicht vollständig herunterlassen). Cinque Terre (via dell amore), Monaco, und die Innenstadt von Diano Marina selbst

Terasse und Balkon sind unserer Meinung nach gut ausgestattet. Die Kneipe "Bei Klaus" ist immer einen (oder auch mehrere) Besuche wert. uns hat der Urlaub sehr gut gefallen.

Die Ausstattung war im Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in Ordnung. Die Küche war gut eingerichtet,es hat nichts gefehtl, das Badezimmer hatte sogar eine Badewann, eine Klimaanlage wäre in der Hitze, die im August herrschte, gut gewesen! San Remo hat uns gut gefallen, aber auch die anderen kleinen Badeorte waren sehr schön, alle nur wenige km entfernt. Wir hatten einen Hund mit dabei und an den meisten Stränden waren Hunde verboten, es wäre gut wenn Sie Informationen für Hundebesitzer hätten, wo Hunde auch mal an den Strand dürften!

ganz wichtig: im Nachbarort Andora gibt es ein richtiges Strandbad mit Sandstrand und ohne Eintritt! Dafür mit viel Platz, einer Wiese und relativ viel schattigen Plätzen.

Durch die Olivenplantagen zu fahren nach Pieve di Teco.San Remo ist auch einen Ausflug wert.Den Strand Cäsars Beach ist sehr schön. Wir waren jetzt schon 4mal da und es ist jedesmal wieder schön.
