This well-appointed holiday apartment is conveniently located close to the Ligurian mountain wine village of Gazzelli, where you can relax away from the bustle of your usual routine. The apartment comprises a large, modern fitted kitchen, and a bedroom and bathroom with shower. The patio is the ideal place to round off the day with a glass of fine wine, or if you prefer you can swim a few lengths of the pool to cool off. You can also undertake various hikes or cycle rides from Gazzelli, through the lush olive groves and right up into the Alpine foothills. And should the fancy take you, you can sample the locally grown wine and olive oil. The landlord of the property is himself one of the growers, and if you\'re interested in how the olive oil is processed, you will certainly be welcome to pay a visit to his oil mill, which will be an enjoyable, interesting time thoroughly well spent.

The ancient town of Chiusanico lies on a ridge, where oak and chestnut woods alternate with hills covered with olive groves. According to a tradition that is corroborated by some researchers, this was the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, although there is no general agreement among historians.


During mediaeval times, Chiusanico was the main centre in the Monte Arosio territory, which was dominated by the Clavesana family.Some portals and buildings at Castello date back to the thirteenth century, such as the single-nave church of San Lorenzo. The church of Santo Stefano dates from later times and still has some splendid eighteenth-century polychrome marble work; it was rebuilt in neo-classical style by the architect Gaetano Cantoni. Inside the church, you can admire a painting of Santo Stefano by Giulio De Rossi (1579).


The masterpiece of Chiusanico, however, is to be found in the parish church of Gazzelli: this is a priceless painting attributed to Domenico Piola showing the Virgin Mary visiting Elisabeth (early seventeenth century).


Torria also offers some works of art that are well worth seeing: the drinking-trough beneath a sixteenth-century loggia, a bas-relief dated 1477 in the parish church of San Martino, the oratory of the Disciplinati della Santissima Annunziata and the sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve. This district is the venue for a biennial photography competition; the sports complex is equipped for fencing competitions. You can take the path leading from an ancient stone wash-house in Torria and make your way up to the sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve and, passing through the woods, continue on to the San Giacomo pass and Monte Arosio. The industrial and commercial municipality of Chiusanico is well known for its superior quality olive oil and its classic Pigato and Vermentino wines.

Picturesque mountain town nestled in between vineyards and olive groves. In Gazzelli is a wonderful "Visitation", who was painted by Domenico Piola. She was originally painted for the pilgrimage church Madonna degli Angeli, which lies somewhat isolated south of the town, but is now to be seen in the church San Andrea.

Die Küche müsste besser ausgestattet sein!!!! -Es war kein schneidebrett vorhanden oder ein großes Schneidemesser, kein Schneebesen, nur eine große Schüssel. Und wenn man schon eine Endreinigung bezahlen muss sollte die Wohnung auch bei anreise sauber sein. Ich glaube die Wohnung war nach unserer ABreise sauberer wie zuvor. Die Endreinigung die wir bezahlt haben war dann für die Katz. Restaurant le Remisse??? in Torria kleines Restaurant mit wechselnden Menüs ligurische Spezialitäten.

Hinweise zu den gemauerten Grills waren nicht vorhanden(keine Beleuchtung dorthin). Weg zum Pool müsste ebenso besser gepflegt werden. Terasse war einfach super. Roch ab und an nach Gas. Wurde nach Hinweis behoben. Die von Sabrina empfohlene Pizza im LeLogge inBorgomaro war echt der Hammer. Wir glaubten ihr zunächst nicht als sie meinte, so groß wie Wagenräder aber wir wurden eines besseren belehrt. Aber man sollte reservieren. Beeindruckt hat uns aber die Landschaft. Die Bergstrassen, auf denen man fast immer allei ist. Empfehlen kann ich auch die Strecke von Pornassio über Mendatica, Cima di Cavallo wieder zurück nach Ponte di Nava, wo man sich im übrigen wunderbar an der dortigen Kreuzung mit Spezialitäten Liguriens und Piemonts eindecken kann. Auch die Altstadt von Villanova d'Albenga ist sehenswert. Ich möchte mich noch einmal für das auftauchen Ihres Teams vor Ort bedanken. Sie haben alles in die Hand genommen und es hat alles geklappt. Da hat man keine Sorgen um Urlaubsort, wenn es mal Probleme gibt. Danke auch füt die Tipps zum einkaufen und Essen gehen. Familie Brand aus Frankfurt
