In the heart of the old harbor (Porto Antico) you will find the original cotton storage halls (Magazzini del Cotone). This was converted to house the new exhibition hall which, thanks to the reconstruction of the surrounding buildings (the home of a 17th century merchant, a historical alleyway from the 19th century, a dock, the side of a ocean liner and more), offers visitors a taste of the maritime history. The museum has original parts from galleons dating from the time of the Genoa Republic.
