St.-Jean-Chap-Ferrat

St. Jean Cap Ferrat is also known as Little Africa on account of its tropical climate. One of its most interesting sights is the Villa Grecque Kéryglos (Feb. - Oct. 10.00 – 18.00, Nov. – Jan. Mon-Fri 14.00 – 18.00, Sat/Sun 10.00 – 18.00) in Rue Gustave Eiffel – built in the style of ancient Greece. The Plage Afrique with its Mediterranean flair is just a short distance away and is a great spot to spend some time relaxing by the sea.

The peninsula of Cap Ferrat is the site of a wonderful park with a villa in the Venetian style built by Béatrice Ephrussi, the sister of Baron Edouard de Rothschild. Today it is known as the Fondation Ephrussi de Rothschild (daily mid-Feb. – Oct. 10.00 – 18.00, July/Aug. up to 19.00; Sat/Sun 10.00 – 18.00), the National Museum. A collection of everyday items from the 14th to the 19th century are on display, including furniture, porcelain and paintings.
