Celle Ligure is a picturesque fishing village with small, colourful houses and a beautiful sandy beach.
Giuseppe Olmo, the 1935 world one-hour distance record holder, still has his racing bicycle factory here with its own sales department.
The church of San Michele Arcangelo dates back to the 17th century. Today the church looks resplendent with its yellow and white façade. It provides a marvellous contrast to the pebble mosaic right in front of the church on the piazza. Inside the church you can view paintings of Saint Michael, Saint Peter and John the Baptist by Perin del Vaga, a pupil of Raphael.
In Pecorile, a suburb of Celle Ligure, you will find the house where Pope Sixtus IV was born. Unfortunately, as the house is privately owned, it is closed to visitors.
